Photography Project #5 Quarter -4 “Create a Digital Portfolio”
Students follow these steps:
- Observe teacher presentation and demonstration.
- Visit website: _http://reta.nmsu.edu/Lessons/digital/View all components of this web site. Write a one page summary of this site and place in your Z-drive. (This site will show you how to create a portfolio). Each week you must visit another site relative to that week’s presentation and write a review of the web site and save it also to your Z-drive.
- Create during this quarter a portfolio in the form of a CD or DVD. See examples of other portfolios and use them as templates or examples to design your own. Try to create a unique form or theme to show technical education.
- You will be presented with a series of Adobe Photoshop Instructional programs during this quarter. You will receive credit for all notes taken during presentations. Keep notes in a folder labeled “notes” in your Z- drive photography/quarter three or four folder. Your written exam will test you on information from these presentations and your notes. If your notes are deemed acceptable by the instructor you may receive exam credit based on the quality of your notes. The techniques presented will be of great help to you when you work on your projects. These presentations will also prepare you for certification.
- You may Use the classrooms and labs from various CACC programs when completing this project. You may use photographs from previous assignments to build your portfolio.
- Create a folder named “Project #6” Place this folder in your quarter 4 projects folder inside your “photography” folder in your z- drive. (Save all your work in this folder). You should have a folder named for each “class section”.
- Create, using Photoshop tools, at least 25 finished photographs, Resume and other samples of your work.
- Experiment with basic Photoshop tools with each photograph.
- Adobe Premiere, powerpoint, Microsoft DVDmaker, Microsoft movie maker or in design may be used by advanced students to create more sophisticated portfolios. See your instructor for access to these programs.
- Assignment will be evaluated each Friday______. Instructor will view and evaluate your work electronically. Second year students must also complete this assignment or you may complete another project of your own design or listed in the second year assignments folder, you must fill out a project plan and discuss with you Instructor. ( You must complete this project if you have no other assignments}
- Your grade will be determined by : Complete and on time
Quality of work

(This project may span an entire semester due to the time required for such task. Second year students may select this assignment as the primary project for the entire semester.) The photographs and final proof must be of excellent quality in order to be printed.

16. Visit http://tv.adobe.com . You should complete one exercise per week from this or a similar web site. Place a copy of your completed exercise photo in you Lesson 3 folder.
17. Visit the following site to complete the next exercise in “Work Keys” http://roe-efe310.wincshost.com/index.php. You should complete at least one skill level each week. Your performance will be evaluated and become part of your final grade
18. Make at least 12 exposures of one student of your choice. Head and shoulders. ¾, full shot, and close-up. Choose the three best exposures and enhance. Place all your work in your Photography folder inside the folder for this weeks projects. Label it “Portrait”. You must complete one portrait each week of this quarter.
19. You must complete at least one page to be used in the “CACC Yearbook”. Each class should have a minimum of three pages. Begin with the Communication classes. Search the internet for ideas in creating a yearbook.
