Through Friday the 23rd the first year class will be finishing up on a Celebration of Knowledge which is a Web Site that they must construct called Pacific Electric.  They have created the LRF (Local Root Folder) and the css rules for the wrapper, header, navigation and content.  They have inserted images in the appropriate places.  They have inserted their content and navigation with rollovers.  When done they call me over and I inspect all of their work in code view and design view and I also look at their LRF to see that everything that is supposed to be there, is there.  Lastly,  I ask to see the Web Site in a browser.

Monday and Tuesday of this week the first year class did a mock up of the Studio M Website which is their final project.  The Mockup is to take to the client for approval.  The mock ups are now on my classroom wall.  We will go through them as soon as everyoneis done with the Web Site they are building.  When we go through the Mock ups, we will discuss improvements that can be madeto make the final project more visually appealing.  We want a professional look.

The second year class finishes Chapters one and two of the Adobe Illustrator textbook this week.  The had to design and make a snowman and a design of their own with the skills that they learned in the first two chapters this week.  The week ending April 30, they will work in Chapters 3 and 4.  They will work with color in Illustrator to add to the drawing skills that they learned in the first two chapters.  They will custom color a robot and a city block.  Then they will learn Guides for arcs, isometric systems, distorting views, intricate patterns, and color guidance in Chapter 3.  In Chapter 4 they will work with compound shapes and paths, use of the eraser tool, using live trace working with live paint, combining paths, and other methods of adding color to sketches.
