COSMETOLOGY I

Length of course: 2 Semesters

Credits per semester: 1.5

Grade level: 11 &12

In Cosmetology I students will complete Basic Training including Tools and Their Uses, Understanding Chemicals, Hygiene & Sanitation and Rules & Laws. Students will learn Hairstyling, including wet setting, thermal styling, ethnic hair design, shampooing and conditioning, and scalp treatments. Students are also instructed in the Fundamentals of Permanent Waving and Contemporary Wrap Techniques and the Fundamentals of Chemical Hair Relaxing, Manicures & Pedicures, Facials, Facial Makeup and Eyebrow Arching.

COSMETOLOGY II

Length of course:  2 Semesters

Credits per semester:  1.5

Grade level:  12

In Cosmetology II students will complete theory and practical training in Haircoloring, including Temporary Haircolor, Semi Permanent Haircolor, Demi Permanent Haircolor and Permanent Haircolor, Highlighting Techniques, Dimensional Coloring and Corrective Hair color.  In addition, they will learn Fundamentals of Haircutting including Blunt Cutting, Graduation Cutting, Combination Cutting, Hair Thinning and the proper use of the Razor and Clippers.  This course will also provide students with the skills needed to participate in a professional interview.
