The curriculum that the student's have been planning & creating has included a Literature Based Curriculum with Eric Carle children's books.  Amazing!  The student's seem to really enjoy the activities that they directed or taught relating to this curriculum.  Some of the student's did not remember hearing books read such as Brown Bear, Brown Bear, or

The Very Hungry Caterpillar.  Other student's shared their favorite book of this author.  Once again, the children used their cutting skills to create spiders, caterpillars, beetles, and many more of Eric Carle's creatures.  We have a beautiful bulletin board in the hallway welcoming spring.

We went from Eric Carle to Going on A Safari & visiting a Rain Forest. The high school students worked very hard

creating monkey's, a zebra, giraffe, elephant, lion, toucan, birds, butterflies, flowers & much more. Monkeys are hanging from the vines and the giraffe is eating from the tall trees.  The children voted on their favorite Safari animal and the lion was the favorite by 1 vote!  The students work very hard developing plans, preparation of materials & then implementing with the children.

Congratulations to Student of the Month for February:

The 2nd yr.. and 1st yr.. Seniors continue to work on their Portfolio's. I am doing 2nd & 3rd time proofing of their work which needs to be completed very soon.  Please ask your student about their work.  Student's will need to make corrections and their work will be looked at again!  We want their Portfolio to be their very best work as they leave CACC.  If the student's are attending LLCC next year, it is possible that they could receive dual credit for Employability Skills which includes the Portfolio.
